  • Anti-inflammatory through by inhibiting NF-kB signaling pathways 
  • Prevent intestinal inflammation by increasing the levels of anti-inflammatory cytokines such as interleukin-10 (IL-10) and IL-22 and decreasing the levels of proinflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α, IL-6, and IL-1β
